There is no single best trade copier for futures. The right one depends on which platforms your prop firms use, whether the copier runs on your own computer or in the cloud, how you size each account, and how much protection you want on a bad day. This guide sets out what to check, then compares three copiers built for prop firm traders (TradeCloner, Tradesyncer and Tradecopia) on facts taken from each vendor's own site.
Published by TradeCloner. Competitor details are taken from their own sites and dated. We are one of the three products compared, so read this page with that in mind, and tell us if anything is out of date.
What to check before you choose
Platforms your firms use
Start with the connection, not the feature list. A copier only helps if it connects to the platform behind every account you plan to copy: Tradovate, NinjaTrader, Rithmic, ProjectX or something else. List your accounts, note each one's platform, and rule out any copier that misses one. Then check whether a Master on one platform can copy to followers on another.
TradeCloner connects to Tradovate, NinjaTrader (through the Tradovate login), ProjectX and Rithmic, and copies across them. MyFundedFutures and Lucid Trading accounts are confirmed working end to end. Tradesyncer and Tradecopia both name more platforms on their sites; the table below lists them.
Where the copier runs
There are three models. A desktop app runs on your own computer, so that computer has to stay on and connected while you trade. A VPS is a remote machine you rent or the vendor supplies. A cloud copier runs on the vendor's servers, so copying keeps going when your computer is off. TradeCloner and Tradesyncer are cloud copiers. Tradecopia offers a desktop app, a browser-based plan and a dedicated VPS plan. Read more in cloud vs local trade copiers.
Per-follower sizing and caps
Your accounts are rarely the same size. Look for sizing you can set per follower (a multiplier, or a fixed contract count) and a per-follower cap on contracts, so one large Master trade does not oversize a small account. TradeCloner offers a multiplier from 1 to 50 or a fixed count, plus a max contracts cap for each follower.
Mini-to-micro support
If you trade NQ on your Master but some accounts should hold MNQ, you need the copier to change the contract, not just the count. Check which pairs are covered. TradeCloner's Cross Order covers eight pairs: NQ/MNQ, ES/MES, YM/MYM, RTY/M2K, GC/MGC, CL/MCL, SI/SIL and HG/MHG. It changes the contract; the count still comes from the follower's sizing.
Bracket and modification handling
Check that take profit and stop loss brackets copy, that moving a stop or target on the Master moves it on every follower, and that cancellations follow too. Then check what the copier does not copy. TradeCloner copies market, limit and stop orders, OCO brackets, and modifications and cancellations. It does not copy stop-limit orders, trailing stops, multi-bracket orders or auto breakeven.
What happens when the Master goes flat
A follower can miss an exit, for example when its order is rejected or its connection drops. Then it is left holding a position the Master has closed. Look for a feature that closes those followers. TradeCloner's Follower Protection closes any follower still holding a copied position once the Master is flat.
Daily limit locks
Prop firm accounts live and die by daily limits. Look for a daily loss limit and profit target per account that stops further copying and flattens the account when hit. TradeCloner locks and flattens a follower on a breach; a Master is flattened but never locked, and follower locks reset at 5 PM ET, Monday to Friday. Blown-account detection suspends copying to an account the broker has closed. See prop firm risk management.
TradingView alerts
If you automate, check whether a TradingView alert can place an order through a webhook, which order types it can send, and which plans include it. TradeCloner includes webhooks on every plan: an alert places a market, limit or stop order on a Tradovate or NinjaTrader Master, and the copy follows. ProjectX and Rithmic Masters cannot take webhooks, and brackets cannot be sent through a webhook. See TradingView to Tradovate webhooks.
Copy groups
Check how many Masters you can copy from at once. TradeCloner runs one active copy group per user at a time. Tradesyncer lists "Multiple Copy Groups".
Trial and refund terms
Check the trial length, whether a card is needed, and what happens if it does not work for you. TradeCloner offers a 7-day free trial for copy trading (card required); its trade journal, news and economic calendar are free with no card. It refunds on every plan when you ask within 14 days, for an issue the team has validated. The other two vendors' terms are in the table.
Your firm's rules
Prop firm rules. Prop firms set their own copy trading rules and change them often. Check your firm's current rules before you connect a copier.

There is no speed row, on purpose: vendors publish their own speed claims, each measured in its own way, and most of a copy's real time is the broker's own order handling.

Other copiers you may see
We have not compared these here. Check their own sites for current plans and features.
- CrossTrade: crosstrade.io
- Thor Trade Copier: thortradecopier.com
- PickMyTrade: pickmytrade.io
- Some platforms also have copying built in, for example Tradovate Group Trading, the TopstepX Trade Copier and Rithmic's R Trader Pro copier.
Where each one fits
TradeCloner is a good fit if:
- your accounts are on Tradovate, NinjaTrader, ProjectX or Rithmic, and you want one Master copying across them from the cloud;
- you want the lowest entry price of the three ($29) and per-follower sizing with a contract cap;
- you copy full-size contracts to micros on some accounts;
- you want TradingView webhooks on your entry plan, with a Tradovate or NinjaTrader Master;
- you want a free trade journal, news and economic calendar.
It is not a fit if you need stop-limit orders, trailing stops, multi-bracket orders, auto breakeven, more than one Master copying at once, or a platform outside its four.
Tradesyncer is a good fit if:
- you specifically need dxFeed (Sierra Chart, ATAS and Quantower accounts already work with TradeCloner through Rithmic);
- you want a mobile app or "Multiple Copy Groups";
- you need up to 80 accounts on a mid-priced plan ($99 Pro) without add-ons;
- you trade at MyFundedFutures, whose copy trading article names Tradesyncer its "preferred partner" (article updated Aug 24, 2026; checked 2026-10-06).
Tradecopia is a good fit if:
- you want software installed on your own Windows or Mac computer, or a dedicated VPS with a static IP;
- you run more accounts than plan limits elsewhere allow, since it states "Unlimited follower accounts" on all plans;
- you want quarterly billing;
What no copier can do for you
It cannot change your firm's rules. Whether copy trading is allowed, and on which account types, is your prop firm's decision. Read their current rules before you connect anything.
It cannot stop a broker rejecting an order. A broker can refuse an order for its own reasons: a limit reached at the firm, a closed account, a price that has moved. A copier sends the order; the broker decides. A good copier tells you when that happens and stops sending orders to a closed account.
It is not a strategy. A copier repeats your Master's trades on every follower, losses included. Five followers copying one losing trade is five losing trades. Size each follower for your worst day, not your best.
